Installing additional spelling dictionaries

You may obtain the additional thesaurus in 2 ways:

• Automatically by using the Dictionary Update Wizard
• Manually by downloading from our Web Site

Important Note: You will be able to use only one Thesaurus at a time. Read more...

• Open the Dictionary Update Wizard by clicking on the Help | Dictionary Update Wizard menu item.
• Follow the directions to download and install the additional thesaurus.
• Note: The Dictionary Update Wizard will indicate both are Installed, but continue by selecting the Thesaurus you wish to download and install
• The new thesaurus will be ready to use the next time you open the Alcoda application.

Downloading from the Alcoda Software Web Site

• Download your desired Thesaurus file

• Extract the files from the self-extracting files and place the in the Alcoda program's home folder (example: C:\Program Files\Alcoda\Word Spring)

• The newly downloaded and installed Thesaurus will be ready to use the next time you open the Alcoda application

If you use the Dictionary Update Wizard to download and install the thesaurus, you can download and use the UK version and if you decide to switch back to the American version, you can easily run the Dictionary Update Wizard, download and install the American Thesaurus for use.

If you manually download and install the new UK Thesaurus, you may save and rename the existing Thesaurus.adt file to Thesaurus(Amer).adt. Then uncompress the newly downloaded Thesaurus file into the Home folder and it will be ready to use the next time you open the Alcoda application. Then if you wish to switch back to the American, just reverse the saving and renaming process and the American Thesaurus will be ready to use.
