How to Upgrade the Alcoda DLLs |
| Upgrading to a
new Version 2.x from any previous Version 2 |
|
Just run the new 2.x install and overwrite the existing
2.x installation. During the install, you may choose to make backups of the
overwritten older files. However, after installing 2.1 and prior to using the
new DLL, ensure that you are correctly using the new 2.x DLL and not mistakenly
using the old 2.x DLL. |
| Upgrading to
Version 2 of Edit Maestro & Spell Maestro |
|
The most important information is that all of the
Function Names and Environment Variables remain the same as in Version 1. Your current Registration Number
is valid for upgrading to Version 2.
Therefore, you may choose one of two ways to upgrade
to Version 2.
- Replace the old DLL with the new, renaming the
new DLL to the same name as in your application. For example, if you currently
using Spell Check DLL, you can rename SpellMaestro.DLL to SpellCheck.DLL (or
another name if you deployed your application with a renamed DLL).
- Replace the old DLL with the new, renaming
your code that calls the DLL. For example, if you currently using
EditorDB, you can rename EditMaestro.DLL to EditorDB.DLL (or another name if
you deployed your application with a renamed DLL).
